Jeremy Walton is the original manager of the EPT_Racing team, and one of the guys we have to thank for putting this group of athletes together. His passion for this sport spreads far and wide. He has established himself not only as a sales expert in the industry, he is also a force to be reckoned with in a race. Jeremy is a shark in the water and a beast on the bike and run. He has a heart of gold, and a determination that will not be broken. Jeremy competed in his first full distance at the 2014 Ironman Texas. He was 8th in his AG out of the water that day. Only 39th off of the 112 mile bike. In transition, he tripped in a pothole, fracturing his foot. Imagine the mental toughness it takes to run/walk an entire marathon with a broken foot? His spirit was not broken. His willingness to fight and finish shined though. On May 17, 2014, Jeremy Walton had a choice to throw in the towel... or use it to wipe the sweat off his face. Go over, go under, go around, or go through, the choice was his to make, and he chose to Never. Give. Up. Jeremy Walton, YOU are an Ironman!

When and where was your first triathlon?

My first triathlon was in 2009. My mom and I did Cane Creek Triathlon together.

What intrigues you most about this sport?

The ability to improve and challenge yourself. Its always you against the clock. Good day, bad day, just an ok day, ( when you question if you should have stayed in bed,) its all about you and the workout. Team sports allow you to potentially blame others. In triathlon there is only you.

What is the biggest race day mistake you’ve made that you’ll never forget?

Trying a flying mount onto the bike and missing the pedal causing me to go over the other side of the bike and face planting with the bike on top of me in front of everyone.

What is your one training tool that you couldn’t live without?

My Garmin(s)

Favorite charity?

ITriForGood is my charity of choice. Their goal is to help athletes fundraise for any charity of choice. The crew at itriforgood have such a passion for helping people, and I want to help them help MORE people. ITFG athletes have a way to fundraise with-out any additional costs such as credit card and processing fees. 100% of the monies given go to the desired non-profit. That is UNHEARD of these days. They cover all of that.. and if I can help them cover their overhead, they can continue to provide this incredible customer experience to thousands of other athletes.
