EPT Racing Team - Jen Keith

The Epoch Performance Therapy Racing Team is gearing up for their fourth season of training, racing and supporting the local community. We are so proud to represent our awesome sponsors this season.

Welcome to our newest members of the EPT Racing family:

Carmen Abernathy: Carmen is a proud member of our EPT running team, although we are slowly turning her into a triathlete. Carmen can be found crushing swim workouts at MSA and running every distance of races from 5K to Marathons.

Joe Anastasi: Joe is a new addition to the team from Lane 3 at MSA. He did a great job at Ironman Louisville in 2016 and will be heading to Italy this season for an Ironman. It’s going to be a big year for Joe!

Susan Black: Susan, also known as Suzeebee, made her return to triathlon in the 2016 season. Look for Susan to tackle more 70.3s this season and to train and race in her famous buffs.

Paul Cavanaugh: Paul has moved to Charlotte from New Hampshire and we are excited to have in our team for the 2017 season. Paul has a big year ahead of him including the Boston Marathon and Ironman 70.3 Raleigh and Augusta.

Kim Demers: Kim has recently joined us in Charlotte by way of Louisville, Kentucky. She completed her first Half Ironman and Marathon in the 2016 season. Kim is looking forward to riding her bike up mountains this season and racing in a couple of 70.3s.

James Drummond: James gave into doing an Ironman from peer pressure from our own Steve Willemin. He has completed Ironman Chattanooga and is looking forward to doing a couple of 70.3s this season.

Keith Ensey: Keith recently completed his first Ironman in 2016 at Ironman Louisville. This season Keith is looking to have fun racing with his new EPT teammates and the gang from Lane 3 at MSA.

Laura Gellman: Laura is a cyclist turned Ironman who has been very active in the local triathlon scene. She will be found this season participating in many bicycle charity rides and gran fondo events.

Shannon Houlihan: Shannon is a mother of two and recent transplant from Houston, Texas. Look for Shannon to make a splash this season in the local racing scene and at USAT Nationals!

Mark Matasic: Mark also completed his first Ironman in 2016 at Ironman Louisville as part of the Lane 3 gang. He has the Yuengling Marathon in Virginia Beach coming up in March and will then transition to triathlons.

Justin Smith: Justin is our bike specialist turned triathlete. You will find him racing in the summer mountain bike series, racing road races and criteriums and at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Time Trial Series. Justin will certainly be busy this season!

Bob Woods: Bob is quite possibly the happiest triathlete on the planet. Anyone who gets to know Bob enjoys his company and loves his positive attitude. Bob is taking on an early season ironman in Florida!

Big Sexy Racing Announces Epoch As Title Sponsor

Epoch Universal - Paul Harrold

CHARLOTTE, NC / IRVINE, CA – Feb. 6, 2015 – Big Sexy Racing is pleased to announce Epoch Universal, Inc., an end-to-end IT solutions provider covering your entire network infrastructure, as the 2015 BSR Title Team Sponsor.

In January 2013, Chris McDonald of Austin, Texas launched Team BSR – Big Sexy Racing. McDonald gained the name “Big Sexy” in the triathlon community due to his incredible journey of being an overweight baker who went from 250lbs to a successful professional triathlete.

Since 2004, Chris has raced as a professional in 42 Ironman events with 20 podium and 32 top 10 finishes. Chris is one of a select group of elite athletes who carries the title of being a 7 time Ironman Champion. With the huge success of Chris and Team BSR growing from 45 members to 110 members in 2014, Epoch Universal sees this as an excellent partnership.
“Partnering with Chris McDonald and BSR not only gives Epoch Universal a global reach from a marketing perspective, but also highlights our passion in ‘delivering’ results to our customers much like a professional athlete ‘delivers’ results in the sport of triathlon,” said Paul Harrold, CEO of Epoch Universal, Inc. “The approach a professional athlete takes in preparing not only to participate in a race but to win a race is similar to the planning, preparation, and dedication we put forth in delivering top level customer satisfaction to our customers.”

Chris and the rest of the BSR team are excited to have the opportunity to support Epoch Universal as brand ambassadors to their services and solutions. Through this partnership, Epoch Universal will be recognized as the Title Sponsor of Chris and the Elite Team BSR with a large presence on the team’s race kit.
